Canadian Dollar

The Canadian dollar (symbol: $; code: CAD; French: dollar canadien) is the official currency of Canada. In Canada’s french-speaking region of Quebec it is called the dollar canadien. English-speaking Canadians and foreign exchange traders sometimes refer to currency’s dollar unit as a “loonie” because the currency has an image of the common loon bird on the back of it. Queen Elizabeth II appears on the front of the currency, as she is considered the Queen of Canada.
